We welcomed some of our major investors for an exciting weekend at the SailGP Season 2 Championship in San Francisco.

SailGP is a globally televised, professional racing series using high performance F50 foiling catamarans, where teams compete around the world in grand prix events. Since 2019, MarkSetBot has been a partner of SailGP, with our robotic buoys serving as course marks for the SailGP Inspire program for local youth and as boundary markers.

The group experienced the thrilling, high speed action of the foiling F50s from the water on Saturday, enjoyed the event village post racing, and wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner as a group.  On Sunday, watching from the grandstands, the group experienced the roar of the crowd as the $1 million season championship prize was awarded.  Everyone came away a new SailGP fan, outfitted with race gear.

The group even got to find out how many SailGP fans can fit inside our new Grand Prix Bot.  The GP Bot is a 9-foot tall, super-sized robotic buoy, custom designed for the SailGP F50 course.  It’s set to debut on the race course next season.  The answer?  A comfortable 12 adults.
